This tools was a product of sub-partnership of Henry Disston and his brother, Charles Disston.  This partnership was known as Butcher Saw and Trowel department and operated from 1865 to 1895.

Blade Marking:   H & C DISSTON, Philada

The Handle:  Cherry.  Handle has original finish.  2  Steel pins with washers.  No medallion.  Handle has original hanging loop.

Visual inspection:

Small amount of surface rust.  One small nick at rounded end of cutting edge.  Handle has very small amount of dings and scratches.  Blade is sharp and shows no signs of sharpening.

Notes:

This is a butchers' tool.  Used in butcher shops and kitchens.
